Why a personal practice?

Our life experience is made up of different habits that we repeat day after day. Some of our habits we are aware of, and others are automatic. Often we are not even aware of where our attention is directed. However, our experience of life is shaped by what we pay attention to.

We open our mobile phones dozens of times a day. We read the news every day. We think the same thoughts day after day. We take the same routes every day. We stress or fear more than we would like to. As if we were cogs in the engine of a mechanical society, without our own will.

Many of us are also aware that the things we do, experience or feel every day do not all contribute to our well-being.

Sound familiar?

Becoming aware of our habits is an incredibly important discovery and the next step is the desire to change our lives. We can call this a conscious taking over of our attention.

We are not meant to carry everything with us throughout our lives. We are meant to grow and let go of things that no longer serve us.

But how do you start making changes to life that will last longer than what you've tried before? You might wonder what others think if you change?

This is where holistic yoga comes in, the thousands of years old wisdom on how to live a full and vibrant life. Yup, yoga is essentially more than just aligning the body into different postures, or asanas.

Yoga is a holistic science and tradition that helps us to reconnect with life and nature. And by nature I also mean ourselves, we are part of nature. Yoga is the oldest technology in the world when it comes to human wellbeing: we have a wealth of teachings, breath-work practices, meditation practices, mantras, asanas, Kriyas, etc. to help us grow into our authentic selves.

P.s. This is why yoga cannot be put into a category like "ashtanga" yoga, "yin yoga" or "hatha yoga". The above are more like body alignment labels for asanas (which are only one part of yoga).

When we create a culture of personal spiritual growth, big shifts start to happen in our lives. When we are able to bring two important routines into our day, our experience of life can be transformed very quickly.

By making space in our day for meditation and personal practice of about half an hour, we take a step towards liberation every day. This is yoga in all its simplicity and that is why it is more relevant today than perhaps ever before.

We are rarely able to deeply change our habits on our own, which is why personal guidance on the path is vital.

Foundation Mentoring 4 Weeks

Foundation mentoring will take your growth path by leaps and bounds over 4 weeks. I would recommend this mentoring to anyone interested in growth, regardless of age or stage of life. During the 3 sessions you will receive personal support and coaching to help you bring out your highest potential. The exercises are created just for you and will deeply support your growth.

Mentoring includes:

- 1 meeting (60min): we lay a solid foundation for your growth. I will teach you a simple and effective meditation routine and we will discuss in more depth the patterns of thought and action that support your life.

- 2 appointments (60min): I will teach you a personal practice (about 30 minutes) that I have designed especially for you. We will practice together and you will learn techniques (including breathing exercises, integrative yoga) so that you can continue practicing independently.

- 3 session (60min): review session, we will go through your questions and I further support you on your path.

I will prepare all our sessions and create a personalised practice for you to best support this stage of your life.

The first 2 meetings will be held as close together as possible, so that you can get the practice routine and tools right away. The last meeting will take place about 4 weeks after the start. During the mentoring you can also send me questions via WhatsApp (see FAQ at the end of the page). The meetings will be conducted via the Zoom app.

Would you like a private guidance in yoga or meditation? Would you like to receive a personal daily practice? Send me your wishes and needs, I will create a practice for us and you'll get a recording, too.

Examples:

- Deeply calming practice (if you need a deeply calming practice of your own, I will design one for you and we will go through it together)

- Meditation Practice (we can meditate together and I can bring in different meditative breath-work practices)

- Energising Practice (when you need a personalised, kick-starting practice in your life, I'll create one for you)

I will prepare our meeting and the practice based on your wishes. The session itself will last about 60 minutes, of which the exercise will be 30-45 minutes. We meet via the Zoom app. For individuals, you can bring a friend.

I am Sanjay, your mentor and yoga teacher

I am Sanjay (birth name Riku Uski), a mentor, teacher, student and Vedic astrologer, practically rooted in the Yog-Vedic science and tradition.

In the past, I have worked in many different industries as an specialist, leader and entrepreneur. My old ways of doing things expired at work and at home, and I was no longer well. Finally, it was time to face myself deeply and let go of many of the things that didn't serve me anymore. With the help of teachers, mentors and deep practices, I was able to make a major life change in a relatively short time.

I live part of the year in the Himalayas in India, the birthplace of Yoga and the Vedic tradition, close to my teacher. I have a holistic and practical understanding of the teachings of ancient wisdom traditions, which I study, teach and practice daily.

I have received comprehensive and practical teacher training in integrative yoga (including philosophy, wisdom tradition, consciousness, Kriyas, breath-work, mantras, meditation, asana) from a Master of the Yog-Vedantic tradition in the Himalayas.

With the same intensity and depth, I have also personally received from my teacher my training as a Vedic Astrologer, or Jyotish, in 2024 as a full-time course of almost 2 months.

Today, I am gratefully supporting myself and others in a way I never dreamed of before.

I'll help you make the breakthroughs of your dream life, and you don't have to move to the Himalayas (unless you want to, it's great there!).

Questions and Answers

 
  • The most important thing is that you want to adopt new habits and make regular practice a part of your life.

    You need some space in your home or wherever you are. A yoga mat is a handy aid, and you can also take cushions or yoga blocks under your bum. You won't need any of these at first.

    No other preparation is required :)

  • Regular meditation, lasting about 15-20 minutes at a time, is very beneficial for us. The meditation I teach is recommended to be done first thing every morning and preferably for some time in the evening at the end of the day as well.

    A personal Kriya yoga and breath-work session lasts about 30-40 minutes. This set is also recommended for daily practice.

    So, depending a little on how you count, 50-90 minutes a day is an optimal practice time.

  • Of course! Personal practice and meditation is meant to be a supportive routine in your day, like brushing your teeth. Personal practice creates a solid foundation for each day.

    You can do, for example, asana practice or exercise any sport you like.

  • Mentoring packages can also be paid in instalments if required, contact me here.

  • Once you've paid and made your reservation, you can relax. Check your payment receipt for any additional instructions.
